10 yearsOut of nowhere I got a call from this number, giving me all sorts of wrong info about a car. They said they were from some outfit called Motor Engineers and claimed to have done an inspection on my vehicle. The woman on the call told me, and I quote, "There was a third party involved who was a passenger. You could receive £1500 set aside for whiplash." Absolutely rubbish - there was no one else involved, no injuries, and definitely no inspection done. Total scam. My advice? Next, he tried to verify my name and then my phone number, which I thought was silly since he dialled me, and I mentioned he had only 30 seconds left. Then he started talking really quickly and I couldn’t understand a word. Told him to slow down and reminded him there were only 25 seconds on the clock. He asked if I was working or retired, to which I snapped back it wasn’t his concern and he had 20 seconds left.
