Got a robotic call telling me that thousands of pounds were gonna be sent from my account to some Mr Santos in South Africa. I couldn’t choose anything else, so I just ended the call, but the message kind of made it sound like hanging up would actually confirm the payment. It was quite unsettling. Never experienced this kind of call before and I can see how it could really scare folks. You just gotta remember it’s a nasty scam and trust that your bank wouldn’t ever send money like that, especially overseas, unless you’ve authorised it beforehand.
