Got a call from a weird number claiming to be from my bank but didn’t say which one. It was a recorded lady telling me to press a button to confirm two transactions - one with Amazon for £300 and another for £1000. I’ve dealt with real bank calls before, and they always ask for security codes or something to prove it’s legit! This was totally a scam, but I can see how some folks might get freaked out. Best thing is just to hang up right away and don’t press any keys or say anything!

He just kept saying "Hello" a few times in a row, with some call centre noise in the background. I didn't respond at all, and then the bloke just ended the call without saying anything else.

Got a voicemail supposedly from Amazon about an iPhone purchase on my account - definitely a scam!

I kept saying "Hello" a few times but got nothing back, just dead silence. After about 25 seconds, the caller just ended the call. This was to a number that’s on the TPS list.
