I received a rather persistent call from a gentleman with a pronounced foreign accent claiming to be from BT Openreach. He was keen to assist with some so-called issues with my internet and router, insisting our connection had been rather patchy lately. I must say, it was incredibly frustrating to get such a call on a Bank Holiday, the one chance I had for a leisurely lie-in, no less! But what really got to me was the sheer audacity of this con artist. I decided to play along for a bit, but when I pressed him to verify his affiliation with BT Openreach, he promptly disconnected. Quite revealing, wouldn’t you say?
