I received a call this morning at 8:45 from the number 01179424833, claiming to be from BT. They warned me that my internet provider was about to cut off my connection due to some supposed illegal activities. The line was filled with chatter akin to a bustling office environment, which I found quite odd considering we’re in lockdown! When I prompted the caller to repeat their statement, they struggled to articulate clearly, prompting me to terminate the call. Later on, at 12:55 p.m., the number 01590714 367 rang me up with a nearly identical spiel. Then, at 3:31 p.m., I got yet another call from 01372 730884, where the person on the other end requested that I speak up. All of these calls came with that same noisy backdrop, suggesting a chaotic office setting. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!
