This afternoon, I had an unexpected telephone call which my partner answered. He informed the caller that he wasn't well-versed in technology and suggested they ring back once I returned at 3 o'clock. Since I've been back, they’ve attempted to reach me five times, but I couldn’t grab the phone as I was tied up with other matters. Each time, it went to voicemail, yet they failed to leave a message. Curiosity got the better of me, so I dialled 1471 and discovered the number was (0117 937 4113). If they ring again, I shall definitely pick up and give them a piece of my mind!

It seems I ran into a bit of a hiccup with my computer, you know how it goes. Had a good old natter with them for roughly ten minutes. They eventually reached the end of their tether when I mentioned I had no clue what a computer keyboard was!

I received a call from this number bright and early at 7:45 am on Monday, the 7th of January, 2019. It hung up just before I could answer. I tried using 1471 to trace it, but it turned out that "this number does not accept incoming calls." Quite the nuisance, if you ask me!

I had a rather alarming call from a chap named Alex, claiming he was with Microsoft. He insisted that my computer had been compromised! I can’t believe I spent a whole ten minutes on the phone with him, feeling quite foolish in retrospect...

Like many others, I find myself engaging these callers and dragging it out a bit for some light amusement. I pretend to entertain their nonsense until, after a while, I reveal that I used to work as an engineer for a major telecoms company. It's quite amusing how the conversation just falls dead at that point. Honestly, it’s rather appalling how these con artists prey on the vulnerability of older individuals with their deceitful tactics!
