Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent saying he was from BT and our broadband was running slow. Thing is, our internet isn’t even through BT, so I have no idea why he bothered ringing. Told him to ring back another time but I’m just gonna ignore it next time anyway.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from BT saying my broadband was being hacked. Had a really thick Indian accent. As soon as I told them I knew it was a scam, they just hung up on me. Definitely sounds like one of those broadband scams.

I got a call at about half past nine on the 5th of April, 2021. The caller claimed to be from BT, telling me there was some kind of problem with my broadband hub. They said they needed some details to fix these errors and improve my connection. Thing is, my internet was working fine, but the person kept insisting it had to be sorted right away. Eventually, I just ended the call and hung up. Definitely a total scam.

Somebody rang saying they were from BT and wanted to take control of my computer remotely. I wouldn't recommend doing anything they tell you to - just keep them hanging to waste their time instead.

It appears that there are some individuals posing as BT representatives, claiming they can assist with your broadband issues and requesting remote access to your device. It's crucial not to grant them this access. Instead, consider leading them on and consuming as much of their time and resources as you can, thereby preventing them from targeting anyone else.
