a man with a strong Indian accent called, claiming to be from BT Openreach, saying our internet was at risk. he told us to download a programme to fix it. we suspected straight away it was a scam, but my husband played along and kept him on the line for about 10 minutes until the bloke finally gave up and hung up.

Got a call saying there was some dodgy stuff happening with my BT broadband router, sounded a bit iffy so I just went along with it and told them the problem had already been fixed the week before. Turns out it was another one of those scams trying to get remote access to your computer - watch out for these lot!
