Got a missed call earlier and when I tried ringing back, it just said the number wasn’t active anymore.

I got a call from this number, picked up and as soon as I said hello, they just went silent and then hung up. When I tried calling back, it said the number wasn’t active anymore. Then, weirdly, I got another missed call from them but they only rang once before stopping.

This number rang me up claiming to be Virgin Media. They said there was some issue with my internet router and wanted me to download something so they could "check" it. I told them no and ended the call straight away. They've called me 3 times again since then - really annoying!
