They called, seemed to know who I was, claimed it was some sort of marketing survey, and promptly cut the line when I requested them to take my details off their list. Sounds a bit dodgy, doesn’t it?

About an hour back, someone tried to get in touch, but it was my lad who answered while I was busy whipping up some lunch. Sadly, I couldn’t grab the phone in time. The person on the line stated they were from Beneficial, attempting to recruit my son for some sort of survey. Without hesitation, I instructed him to hang up and blacklist that number straight away.

I tried to find out who was calling before answering, but as soon as I asked, they just hung up. I've blocked the number now.

Got a call from some scammer who oddly knew my maiden name and was fishing for my real name. The moment I refused to share anything, they just ended the call.

Got a call from a recorded voice saying HMRC was onto me about some tax fraud and that I should hit 1 to speak directly with an investigator. Seemed dodgy to me.

They called claiming to be from the benefits department, saying it was just a quick survey. When I asked who they were and how they got my details, they were really rude and pushy. They even asked for me by name right away.
