Got a call from Shelter asking for a bigger donation than what I’ve happily been sending for two years. Didn’t really appreciate the pressure, so I’ve stopped the direct debit now. If they want more than I’m comfortable with, I’ll just give my money to another charity instead.

It was Shelter, and the call was legit. They rang up asking me to pay extra, even though I’m already contributing quite a bit. Got a call from someone claiming to be my energy advisor, but my area code's 0131, so not exactly close by. Ended up hanging up and blocked the number straight away.

Got a text from this number saying I'd missed a call, but my phone was right next to me and never rang. The message told me to call 759 to hear a voicemail, but I chose to check my own voicemail instead. There was nothing there. Seems fishy to me, probably a scam, so I wasn't going to risk dialling 759 just in case.

Just got a call on my phone around 10 minutes ago. Luckily, my HIYA APP flagged it as "possible spam" (truly recommend it, plus it’s free!), so I didn’t pick up. No voicemail was left either. Reading through the comments here is confusing - some say it’s from Shelter (haven’t given them money in ages), others say it’s BARCLAYS (don’t bank with ’em but do have a Barclaycard). Honestly, I trust what my app says. It’s totally daft to have this marked as NEUTRAL!

Got a call from 01174637278 saying they were from ‘Shelter Scotland’. They said it was a thank you for supporting Shelter and gave some pretty detailed info about the legal work they do. Seemed legit at first, but then they asked about how I prefer to be contacted. Things felt off when they asked me to verify my address - and the address they gave was wrong, even though I’m sure Shelter has the right one on file. That’s when I decided to end the call.
