Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise on my house phone on the 9th of December 2023 around 10:22 in the morning. They hung up after about a minute. I'm on the TPS and my number is ex-directory, so I’m pretty sure they weren’t supposed to be calling me. I’ve now put a block on that number after seeing what others have said.

Got a call from someone saying my loft insulation was the wrong kind, claimed their info came from a Government energy insulation group. When I asked where they got my details, they wouldn’t say properly. If that group was real, there’s no way they’d be handing out personal info like that without breaking the law. Pretty obvious it’s a scam. The number showed as Bristol but the bloke spoke with a strong Northern accent - sound like he was from up north, maybe Yorkshire. Don’t bother with these folks, just block, report and move on to be safe!

This robotic-sounding bloke kicks off a conversation as soon as you say anything, blathering on about energy-related topics. However, if you choose not to engage or just stay silent after his initial query, he pretty much throws in the towel. It's a rather odd interaction, to say the least!"
