Looks like Lincolnshire is becoming a hotspot for these scam calls recently, with scammers using loads of different numbers. This one’s definitely suspicious, so cheers to everyone flagging it. Just today, 4th March 2024, around 11 am, down South Lincs. The local coppers have a squad that can give advice and send you info leaflets on what to watch out for. We’ve seen that number before and already put a block on it. (BT)

I picked up and they immediately asked if I owned the house. As soon as I told them I didn’t, they just ended the call.

I was curious to see if the caller was the property owner.
It turned out to be a bunch of scammers and con artists!
I've now added the number to my blocked list.

I got called by some bloke named Peter, claiming he was from some energy board. He told me our house was listed because of outdated fluffy loft insulation. I was like, how on earth would you know what insulation’s in my loft? The line went dead for a bit, then he said thanks for asking and that he was only gathering info to check if we could get a grant to upgrade the insulation for better energy efficiency. Then, bam, he just hung up. Looks like total rubbish to me.

I told them I wasn’t the person who owns the house when they asked. After that, they just said they wouldn’t call me anymore and ended the call. Total scam, so I blocked the number straight away.

We got called twice by these people today claiming to be local energy specialists. They said our loft insulation needs updating, which is odd, cos they’ve never even been here. They keep ringing from new numbers and we just block every one that rings.

That seemed a bit fishy since I hadn’t heard from them before now. She then asked if I was a homeowner, to which I replied no. After that, she apologised and promised not to ring again. Feels like a classic phishing scam to me.

Got a couple of calls from an unfamiliar number on my father-in-law's landline today. He’s on the TPS and even ex-directory, yet these calls keep coming. I had to look them up and block them both within less than an hour. This is getting seriously annoying.
