I couldn't help but inquire whether this supposed scheme would also prevent him from pestering me in the future, fully aware that he was trying to pull a fast one. Predictably, he hung up in a huff!

I’ve only recently switched my mobile number, and the only one who’s aware of it is EE. So it seems like this could either be a result of some automated lookup or perhaps someone from within the company sharing my details. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!
