At around 10 in the morning on the 22nd of May, I received a call from a young Asian male. He requested to speak with me directly and mentioned he was representing Affinity Water, conducting a survey on water quality. There wasn’t any background noise at all, and after a brief moment, I hung up the phone.

At the end of the survey, they hastily added that an engineer might swing by, but only if the survey results deemed it necessary. No thanks, I’m not interested in your water filtering service. If I wanted something like that, I’d only get in touch with a company I a) know of, b) someone has recommended, and c) have checked out online. I never gave you my number, so please stop calling me. Don’t you understand how much these calls bother people? We’ve got lives to live and don’t want to be disturbed by annoying companies, especially when we’re working night shifts. My partner got a call from this number, supposedly from Pure Water People, and she agreed to a free assessment thinking it was for some sort of study. The caller asked loads of questions but never mentioned selling anything. I managed to find their website and sent them an email to cancel the assessment. They replied quickly and courteously, confirming the cancellation. It seems like the company uses the excuse of doing surveys to get around the TPS regulations.
