I reckon she wasn’t being entirely honest, that lass doesn’t hail from Eastern Europe at all. The proposition she put forward seemed far too good to be genuine-it had all the hallmarks of a con!

Got caught up in a dodgy phone contract scam, so I just blocked the number.

Got a call from someone with a foreign accent pretending to be from EE, pushing a deal that sounded too good to be true. They got my postcode, house number, and even my name - which I deliberately spelled wrong, but they still confirmed it. Then they wanted my birthdate, and that was my cue to hang up. I’ve blocked the number since. Definitely scammers. I also asked where they were calling from, and the guy rattled off a London Holborn address like he’d memorised it or something, but the number actually came up from Bristol. Dodgy as hell.
