I just got a ring from 01174 406316, someone saying they were calling from Crisis. A polite bloke asked for me by my name and if now was a good time to talk. I said no, so he asked how best to reach me. I told him email since I donated at Christmas and expected they’d have my email from the receipt they sent me. If I hadn’t stopped it there, he might’ve tried to get my bank info. Sounded quite sincere, but that don’t mean it's legit.

The crisis team rang up asking for a regular donation. They asked for my sort code and account number but I told them I was out walking the dogs so didn’t have that info on me. They called again later but I just ignored it and blocked the number. Seemed a bit dodgy to me.

someone rang saying they were from a crisis centre, said they needed to 'make sure they had the correct person' and read the last part of my postcode, then asked for the first bit. i told them i never share my info on calls and they sounded annoyed. they said it was just for security but i ended the call. whoever you are - you called me first, don't expect me to prove who i am!

This number was claiming to be from Crisis and is definitely a scam. Crisis is a great charity and wouldnt use these dodgy cold calls. I donate to them myself and they always contact me by letter if they need anything about admin or donations. I wouldnt trust this number at all, its not legit.

I picked up the phone and a bloke called Josh said he was ringing from Crisis, asking if I had a minute to chat. I said sure, but right away he asked me to confirm my postcode for "security reasons." I told him I wasn’t comfortable giving out any personal info, especially since I hadn’t asked for the call. He explained it was a new measure to verify who they were speaking to. I wasn't convinced and politely said I’d rather contact the charity myself. He seemed nice enough and ended the call by wishing me a pleasant evening. I’ve supported Crisis now and then before, so maybe they were trying to get me set up with a regular donation. Either way, I’m not handing over details on a cold call - I know how to arrange donations properly if I want to.

This bloke said he was from some crisis team and wanted me to verify my address, but it felt really iffy so I didn’t answer. He mentioned my postcode ended in 6GH, which is actually an old one, so I told him that wasn’t right but didn’t give my current postcode. Then he asked me to confirm my email, saying something like "can you confirm your email address ending with @gmail[###]", and I told him it sounded dodgy and I wasn’t sharing my info with someone I don’t know. After that, he said "I’m going to end this call now" - total scammers, no doubt!

I got a call from someone called Chris, or at least thats the name he gave, and he kept trying to get loads of personal info from me. Seriously, dont trust him or share anything. If you have to talk to him, try to record the conversation or just give him bogus answers. Better safe than sorry with these types!

They said it was Crisis and it sounded alright, but we really dont like getting calls out of the blue. I thought those calls were illegal in the UK anyway, so if it really was Crisis, they shouldve known not to do that.

This number rang me earlier but since I didn’t know who it was, I just ignored it and there was no voicemail left, which real callers usually do. If it’s really some sort of Crisis call, I’m not keen on random asks for donations - I give when I want and can afford to. After seeing what others have said here, I went ahead and blocked the number now.

They hinted at being linked to some kind of crisis and asked for just 2 minutes to talk about 'admin stuff'. When I nicely said no thanks, they cut me off straight away, even before finishing what they were saying, which seemed a bit dodgy. With the new GDPR rules in place, it’s really odd to get a call about ‘admin’ from anyone. Honestly, it gave off a scam vibe to me.

this is 100% not any kind of crisis like the previous posts say. its just scammers pretending to be from a crisis charity, trying to trick you by taking advantage of your kindness and maybe your willingness to help. dont fall for it. id definitely say these scammers are risky and should be avoided.

Some guy rang me up, claiming he was calling about a “Crisis”. He already had my name, which felt a bit dodgy, then he straight away asked for the first line of my address. I wasn’t having any of it and told him to jot it down or send something proper in writing instead. After that, I just ended the call.
