I received a rather dubious call from this number, purporting to be from Vodafone, and they were trying to entice me with a supposedly exclusive offer to slash my monthly bill from £30 to a mere £7 for six months. Having seen the BBC’s Scam Interceptors, I thought I'd have a bit of fun and said, “Oh, how delightful! What a fabulous offer that would be, especially since I'm only paying £10 a month on PAYG! So, which call centre are you manning today - are you based in Jaipur or perhaps Mumbai?” There was a palpable pause followed by the unmistakable sound of disconnect!
