4 yearsIndeed, I found myself in a similar predicament recently. I decided to hit “1,” brewed a lovely cup of coffee, and then proceeded to engage in a completely daft conversation with someone on the line. It’s quite possible they were trying to pull a fast one on someone else while I rambled away for a good ten minutes!4 yearsGot called by someone pretending to be from my bank, asking for my card details - total credit card scam! Can't believe people still try this rubbish.4 yearsI've been receiving incessant calls from this number, and they never bother to leave a message. Quite odd, if you ask me.4 yearsI received a rather dubious call from someone claiming they'd spotted numerous suspicious charges on my bank card. They insisted I hit 1 to speak to one of their "agents" about it. I'm convinced it was a scam.4 yearsGot a call from some number in Sheffield, I picked up and they just hung up straight away. Looks like more dodgy scammers messing about. It's a real shame the coppers aren’t sorting these calls out, probably too caught up handing out speeding tickets or something.Sheffield4 yearsBlocking their calls doesn't really help since they just switch to a different number, usually with a new area code.4 yearsSome bloke rang but never gave a name, just hit # straight away, so CallGuardian blocked it for me - no more ringing now, silence is bliss.CallGuardian4 yearsGot a call claiming to be from my bank's fraud team, but I didn’t give any bank details cause I’ve seen this before. Didn’t say which bank they were from either, so pretty obvious it’s a scam.4 yearsI've been getting scam calls for over a year from someone who's actually based near Hollyhead Road in Coventry, but they use fake area codes to hide their real location. On average, I get called about once every month. Always remember, a bank or any legit institution won’t call out of the blue asking about your account details without verifying themselves with a pre-agreed security word or code. So just pause, think it through, and don’t answer or engage - hang up straight away! If it truly is an important call, they’ll ring back again.Hollyhead RoadCoventry4 yearsTotally with what others have said here. This kinda scam's everywhere these days. I pretty much never speak on the phone any more. Just lift the receiver and hang up - job done. A mate once told me “hi it's scammers again”. Then I dial 1471 to find out who called, check here on this website, and if it’s definitely dodgy, I block the number with 1872 so they don’t bother me again. Am I thrilled about it? No way. But this is just the reality we’ve got to deal with. Keep your chin up, Mike.4 yearsOn Tuesday 14th June 2022 at 10:24, I got a robocall warning me about a suspicious £600 debit card transaction sent overseas.4 yearsGot a call from some scammer that kicked off with a robotic voice saying "we've detected six unauthorised transactions on your debit card." Now, if you don't stop to think "hang on, how would they even see my bank details without mentioning my bank?", they push you to press a number to allegedly talk to a real person. Of course, the whole thing is a ploy to trick you into handing over your cash. Total dodgy attempt!4 yearsI received a recorded message alerting me that there’s been an unauthorised transaction linked to my debit card.Submit Your Own Report (0117 409 5082)
