I found myself in a rather tricky situation when a caller identifying themselves as a representative from Citizens Advice Bailiff reached out. They claimed that my debt had been transferred between various companies, which seemed rather dubious to me. When I mentioned that I'm on an IVA scheme, they bombarded me with questions that I had no intention of answering. It was alarming how they already knew my personal details, like my name, date of birth, and address. I pressed them for specifics regarding the matter at hand, but they stubbornly refused to divulge any information. I then informed them I would be getting in touch with my IVA provider, to which they ominously responded that they would contact them themselves - clearly, they were aware of my IVA arrangement. Just before ending the call, they threatened to send bailiffs to my home and abruptly hung up. Now, when I attempt to return the call, the number is unreachable. Quite concerning, indeed!

He claimed to be a bailiff, but I’m currently enrolled in a payment arrangement with a debt management firm. I reached out to them, and they confirmed it was a scam. I made sure to record the conversation and have reported it to the authorities. The bloke on the other end had quite a bit of my personal information, which was rather concerning.
