He was rather bold, asserting that he represented a governmental body.4 yearsThe individual on the line claimed they acquired your number through some governmental source.4 yearsFraudsters at work!4 yearsReceived a rather peculiar phone call the other day. On the line was a foreign gentleman, who surprisingly recited my name and an email address I haven’t used in yonks. I had to shut that email down ages ago because of a wave of dodgy spam. When I firmly stated that he had the wrong person, he became increasingly aggressive, almost as if we were about to have a row. I reiterated that he was mistaken, but he insisted he had my details from some government source and went on about mythical debts - which I categorically do not have. I repeated that he must have mixed me up with someone else and requested he remove my number from whatever list he was using. He stubbornly maintained I was indeed who he claimed, while I stood my ground, merely denying his assertions about my identity. It was clear he was getting nowhere with his little scheme, so he abruptly hung up. A word of advice - never divulge your information to these characters, and certainly do not confirm who you are. A call centre is usually not a good sign and likely means they have ulterior motives. If you’ve landed on this site, you’re making a wise choice. Leave a note for others so we can all steer clear of these crooks. Wishing everyone a fantastic 2023!4 yearsWishing you a splendid New Year as well, and I truly appreciate you going out of your way to share that information. I can't help but find it rather delightfully amusing-there's a certain joy in witnessing their escalating frustration when you stubbornly refuse to engage! Here’s to a fantastic 2023 ahead!4 yearsReceived a rather dodgy call claiming to have some information from the "authorities" regarding a supposed debt I owe. Funny thing is, they didn’t even bother to confirm who I was. This obviously left them floundering as they attempted to tease out my identity. When they insisted they'd have to involve the police for my refusal to cooperate, I simply responded with, "be my guest!" Then, to really wind them up, I pretended my connection was poor, simulating a lost signal while keeping them on the line for a good while longer. In total, I kept the call going for precisely 34 minutes and 12 seconds before finally ending it. What a right carry-on!4 yearsAfter perusing the feedback, I’m rather pleased that my phone has the ability to filter out dodgy calls, ha!Submit Your Own Report (0117 403 4066)
