They straight up said it's a scam. WATCH OUT. They were trying to hack into computers. If you mess around with them, you could help stop others from falling for it.

I received a rather concerning call earlier today from the number 01173709905. The caller identified herself as Christine Lee, claiming to be from Microsoft. She warned me that foreign hackers were attempting to breach my computer's security. Quite alarmingly, she even requested remote access to my device. I promptly ended the call, but I can't help but feel this is quite perilous; they can be remarkably persuasive, and it's easy for unsuspecting individuals to fall for such scams.

This bloke claimed he worked for Microsoft and wanted me to let him control my computer remotely. Yep, classic scam right there.

I’ve been warning my husband not to pick up on strange numbers like 01173709905. Today it was some woman claiming she had an urgent message for him. Honestly, just another dodgy scam trying to trick us.

About quarter of an hour ago, I got a call from a woman who said her name was "Clara" and claimed to be with Microsoft. The first call came from a 01574 number, but I hung up straight away. Then, barely a minute later, my phone buzzed again, this time showing 01173709905 - turns out it was "Clara" again, apparently an old mate. She asked why I had cut the call, but I ended it once more. She tried ringing back right away, but I ignored it. Seems like these folks can switch numbers easily. Just a heads up, watch out for this sort of thing.

I received a call from an Indian call centre, and they were masquerading as Microsoft, claiming there were problems with my computer. It's nothing but a typical scam, really.

Had a call from a couple of blokes with really thick Asian accents claiming to be from Microsoft. They said there was illegal stuff going on my computer and told me to enter NETSTAT so they could “help”. Obviously, that’s them trying to get control of your PC! I played along for a bit, but when he asked what was showing on my screen, I didn’t hold back and told him straight up he was a fraud. We ended up arguing for a bit before he just disconnected. Typical scam!

It was a woman who didn't seem to speak English properly, probably Filipino or something. She kept giggling the whole time.

It’s likely just a robocall, as the moment my voicemail picked up, they hung up. Since my number isn't listed publicly, I suspect it’s just a random call generated by a computer.

Got a call looking for someone who wasn’t home. When I asked what it was about, the caller snapped, “why would I tell you, you’re not [name]?” I tried to offer to take a message but they just got even more annoyed so I ended the call. They rang me straight back on another number, 01277280294.

So today at 09:01:19, I got the 5th call from a lady speaking with an Indian accent, her persistency is unreal, she kept ringing even tho I hung up the last 4 times. All the calls came in under 3 minutes, each from different numbers. Beforehand, she said she was from Microsoft, definitely the same person behind it all.

Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent claiming she was from Microsoft, saying there was hacking activity on my PC and they were about to lock it down. When I called the number back to verify, this bloke with an Indian accent answered and gave me almost the same spiel, but called themselves a ‘computer maintenance centre’ this time. Both insisted they were located in Reading, yet the number showed up as Bristol. They were pretty forceful and quite close to rude really.
