I faced a refusal at Carphone, but the following day I received a call from a representative. They mentioned, “I’m tasked with reaching out to all customers who’ve been declined to see if I can assist with getting you approved.” They requested some basic details like my address and date of birth, but thankfully no bank information was asked for. After being left on hold for about five minutes, I decided to end the call. I called back and arranged to have the phone delivered to the store instead. When I pointed this out, he tried to explain that it went through a local switchboard. According to him, I would snag a better deal on the latest model compared to what’s on offer in store. I kept my cards close to my chest and told him I wasn't up for any tricks from a cold caller. He sounded quite convincing, and I can easily see how someone more gullible could end up falling for it. Just a heads up - this is definitely a scam!
