Just got a call about the UK Government’s ECO4 scheme. It sounded a bit off, so I checked and turns out it's a total scam. Watch out if you get a call claiming to be from them - dodgy stuff!

An absolute stranger with a thick southern English accent just called, asking for a Mr Jones. Then, without a word, he put the phone down. Odd, to say the least!

Got a call on my home phone from 01173259036, and a woman who said her name was Katie was talking about some boiler services. I just ended the call straight away.

The number was unfamiliar to me. When I answered, the caller left no message on the voicemail. I've decided to block the number now.

My elderly mate who has some disabilities got a call early in the morning about a “boiler problem”. She was really stressed out about it all morning until her carer came round and cleared things up. Turns out the central heating boiler is absolutely fine and she's got a maintenance plan with BG, so no worries there.

Got a call from a lady named Christine who spoke really clearly, said it was about some government energy program. Pretty sure it was just another one of those dodgy energy scams.

Got a call from a polite older woman saying she was Christine, talking about some government eco program. I told her I wasn't interested and ended the call straight away. Seemed a bit dodgy to me. After a bit of digging, turns out it’s one of those usual spam calls I get all the time - definitely not wanted.

They rang me but couldn’t get my name right, so after a couple of attempts, they just ended the call.

They said the government was giving out FREE boilers. When I said I’d just got a new one fitted, they hung up on me straight away. Pretty sure this is some sort of scam.

I received a call from a number based in Bristol, yet the fellow on the line was professing to be calling from London. He spoke with a distinctly thick Asian accent, introducing himself as Michael, and claimed he was verifying the age of our gas boiler. Oddly enough, he said the British government had shared my information with him. Frankly, given the current state of affairs, I wouldn’t put anything past them, but you’d think they’d know that this area doesn't even have gas supply! Clearly, it was a dodgy operation; he ended up hanging up while I was just starting to find the whole thing rather amusing. Who are these numpties, and how come they're still allowed to pull this sort of nonsense?

Definitely sounded like a call centre. This lady wanted me to verify if I had a gas boiler. I kept quiet and then asked if she was calling on behalf of British Gas. She refused to answer, so I just hung up.

Got solar panels fitted through the eco4 scheme while we were out, all done by this number in just under a month 👌

I didn’t answer as I didn’t know the number, and it just went to voicemail. The caller ended the call pretty quick. Even though I’ve been on the TPS for ages (using the same phone), I still get constant calls from strangers.

I got a call from a woman claiming I could get a government grant if my boiler’s older than 15 years. Seemed fishy straight away, so I just told her I wasn’t interested and hung up. Pretty sure it was a scam.

Without a doubt, this reeks of a scam. If it were truly the HMRC reaching out, they’d have the courtesy to send an official letter, wouldn’t they?

I was curious whether I might be eligible for the government’s ECO 4 initiative… They mentioned it wouldn’t cost me a penny, but I had my doubts about its authenticity.

This number was calling about the Government's Eco 4 programme, not sure what it’s about exactly but sounded official. They left a voicemail saying it’s something connected to the eco scheme, might be worth checking if you’ve applied for anything like that. Just thought I’d share in case anyone else gets the same call.

From what I understand, they're checking if folks qualify for the eco scheme, which is free if you do. Apparently, your household income should be below 31k to be eligible.

Got a ring about some eco4 scheme, said it’s from a social media ad, tryin to see if I’m eligible or somethin.

Totally a scam, watch out!
