3 yearsI received a call from a bloke with an Asian accent who introduced himself as Alex. He mentioned something about me being able to get my deposit refunded if I'm renting as a private tenant. It struck me as a typical scam, so I decided to hang up.Alex4 yearsJust like what others said, everytime I pick up the phone, it immediately cuts off from the other end.4 yearsSo annoying! They kept ringing my phone every few minutes, like every 5 minutes or so. When I finally picked up, they just ended the call straight away.4 yearsThey keep ringing me using loads of different numbers. Total scams.4 yearsGot a ring earlier from a guy who said his name was Alex, sounded Asian. He was going on about how I could get my deposit back, like if I’m renting privately. Never got one of these calls before, feels like this might be one of those latest scams doing the rounds.Alex4 yearsI keep recieving calls from this firm called AQL Wholesale. Never picked up. At first they rang from a Leeds number, but now its a Bristol one. I keep blocking the numbers but they just ring from a different one. Totally a scam, dont bother answering.AQL WholesaleLeedsBristol4 yearsI just ignored it since my phone automatically flagged the call as spam... didn't bother picking up.4 yearsI didn't pick up either, and like a few others mentioned, this has to be some sort of scam.4 yearsI got a call from someone claiming to be in Bristol, which seemed fishy since I wasn’t waiting on any calls from that part of the country. Could be a dodgy sales pitch or maybe even a scam. Pretty annoying really.Bristol4 yearsGot a call from a woman overseas claiming to be from Tenancy Deposit Security. I don’t rent anywhere and when I tried to call her back, the number wasn’t in service or something. Quite suspicious if you ask me.4 yearsThis number rang me from Bristol and when I answered, I asked who he was and which company he was calling from. The guy sounded like he might have been Indian or Pakistani. He refused to tell me his name but claimed he was calling on behalf of the Deposit Protection Service. I told him to email me instead since they should have my details already, but he insisted on getting my email from me. I wasn’t giving it out. When I asked what he wanted, he asked if I was a private tenant. I told him if he was genuine, he’d already know that. Then he mentioned an address that sounded a lot like somewhere I lived over 15 years ago. I pointed out it was nearer to London, so why was he ringing me from Bristol about that? I told him if he was really from the DPS he’d send an email, not hassle me for personal info. He still asked for my email but since it’s already registered with the DPS, I didn’t see why he needed it again. It just felt dodgy to me.BristolDeposit Protection ServiceLondonDPSSubmit Your Own Report (0117 325 8795)
