3 yearsI received a call from a bloke with an Asian accent who introduced himself as Alex. He mentioned something about me being able to get my deposit refunded if I'm renting as a private tenant. It struck me as a typical scam, so I decided to hang up.Alex3 yearsJust like what others said, everytime I pick up the phone, it immediately cuts off from the other end.3 yearsSo annoying! They kept ringing my phone every few minutes, like every 5 minutes or so. When I finally picked up, they just ended the call straight away.3 yearsThey keep ringing me using loads of different numbers. Total scams.3 yearsGot a ring earlier from a guy who said his name was Alex, sounded Asian. He was going on about how I could get my deposit back, like if I’m renting privately. Never got one of these calls before, feels like this might be one of those latest scams doing the rounds.Alex3 yearsI've been inundated with calls from a company by the name of AQL Wholesale. I've chosen to ignore them. Initially, they were ringing from a Leeds number, but now they've switched to a Bristol area code. It's quite uncanny! I keep blocking their numbers, yet they persistently find new ones to contact me from. Definitely feels like a scam to me. Best to steer clear and not pick up!AQL WholesaleLeedsBristol3 yearsI gave it a go, but they didn't pick up. My phone flagged the number as potential SPAM...3 yearsI didn’t get a response either, but judging by what others have mentioned, it seems fairly clear this is likely a scam.3 yearsI suspect this might be an annoying sales or scam call. It supposedly comes from Bristol, yet I wasn't anticipating any calls from that region at all. Quite fishy, if you ask me!Bristol3 yearsI received a phone call from a foreign woman claiming to be from a tenancy deposit security service. The thing is, I don’t even own a property! When I tried to call the number back, I found it was completely unrecognised. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!3 yearsI got a call from a number based in Bristol, and I inquired about the caller's identity and employer. He seemed to have an Indian or Pakistani accent. When I pressed him for his name, he refused to disclose it but claimed he was affiliated with the Deposit Protection Service. I suggested he send me an email, as that information should be on his records, but he insisted on obtaining my email address instead, to which I firmly declined. Curious about the purpose of his call, I asked him what he needed. He claimed he was trying to ascertain whether I was a private tenant, and I pointed out that a genuine caller would already have that information. To my surprise, he brought up an address that sounded remarkably like one I resided in over a decade ago. I questioned why he was discussing an address much closer to London if his claims were true, expressing my concern about potentially falling victim to a scam. Again, he requested my email, but I reiterated that my email was already with the DPS, raising further suspicions about his intentions.BristolDeposit Protection ServiceLondonDPSSubmit Your Own Report (0117 325 8795)
