I had a rather unsettling phone call from this number, claiming that there were legal papers linked to my name regarding debts I supposedly owed. Funny enough, I don’t have any loans or financial troubles, and I'm actually a solicitor myself! The caller was quite persistent and had a distinct Indian accent, which made it somewhat eerie. She referred to me using both my first and last name, which felt all too personal for such a dubious situation. When I challenged her on the legitimacy of her claims, she insisted it was all above board, even though I strongly believed it to be a scam. I asked her to remove my number from her list, albeit knowing that was probably wishful thinking. Best to steer clear of this one!

The call was almost impossible to understand 'cos there was loads of noise in the background, sounded like some sort of national helpline? Maybe about debts or something. Definitely felt dodgy, like a scam call centre. The person wasn’t professional whatsoever and just ended the call suddenly. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Received a rather dubious call purporting to be from the National Debt Helpline, claiming they had received my details that very morning, mentioning that I was struggling with some debts. When I pressed for specifics about which company I allegedly owed money to-seeing as I've never directly dealt with them-they couldn’t provide a single name. I repeatedly insisted they divulge the name of the creditor before we continued our conversation, and then, quite abruptly, they hung up! This number is definitely a scam, no doubt about it.

I got a call from someone claiming to be the 'National Debt Helpline', but it was obvious it was from a call centre abroad. They rang even though my number is on the TPS list. Has anyone picked up when this Bristol number rings? I've had a couple of missed calls from it, seems like it could be some kind of robo call from a call centre checking if my number is active. I usually don’t pick up unknown callers and there's no voicemail from them either. I tried searching online to find out more before calling back, but couldn’t find much - aside from a similar number linked to debt collection agencies. Does anyone know what this might be about?

Got a ring from a lady saying she'd got some legal docs about debts I supposedly owed and couldn’t pay up. I told her she had the wrong person - no loans, no debts - but she just kept going. I said I was pretty sure this was a scam, but she wasn’t budging. Told her to delete my number and stop phoning me. Had no choice but to hang up eventually. Like another person mentioned here, she did have my name right though. Best advice: just don’t pick up if this number calls you.

Got a call from the same number again, but what freaked me out was that they actually knew my full name! They told me I supposedly have regular debt payments, even threw out some examples. Told them I don’t owe a thing each month and they said they’d take my details off their system because someone must’ve given them wrong info. If I hadn’t been on my guard and stood my ground, I reckon they’d have kept pushing. Feels like a scam to me, so be careful. Pretty much the same story for me, I told them I wasn’t interested at all and said if I ever needed help with something like that, I’d get in touch with Citizens Advice instead, then just ended the call.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent who somehow knew my name and claimed I had legal papers about debts I supposedly owed and couldn’t pay. I kept telling her I don’t have any loans or debts, so it immediately felt fishy. Still, she kept insisting it wasn’t a scam, even though it was obvious rubbish. I called her out on her nonsense but she just wouldn’t take the hint. Eventually, I told her to remove my number (though I doubt she actually did) and hung up on her while she was still talking. For the record, I’m a lawyer with zero debts, so this was obviously a dodgy call. Definitely steer clear of these scammers!
