Got a call from a Bristol number I didn’t recognise. Didn’t pick up since I’m usually too busy to chat to strangers. They didn’t leave any voicemail or message, so no idea who it was. I’ve just blocked the number now.

Bit of a pleasant surprise, this number is from Centrepoint charity. They rang to say thanks for my help and to fill me in on how my donations are being used. We had a lovely little chat about it all.

I already gave them the centre point earlier and triple checked it, so it's definitely on their end this time.

They keep ringing me even though I’ve said no more calls before. I’ve given money to them once, but now they keep sending me stuff through the post without my say so. Feels like my donation just gets wasted with all this hassle!

Glad to know it might be a real charity. Thing is, whenever I pick up, they hang up straight away without even saying anything - this has happened thrice already. It's starting to get a bit frustrating now.

I gave a single donation to the homeless charity Centrepoint around Christmas, just a one-time thing. Now they keep ringing me up, asking if I want to make another donation. I'm fairly sure I told them not to call again, but here they are anyway.

I didn’t pick up because it was pretty noisy where I was, and they didn’t leave a voicemail. It’s good to know it was Centrepoint though - I gave them a one-time Christmas donation, so I guess this call might be to ask for more funds. I’ve also had some letters from them. I need to double-check, but I’m pretty sure I asked them to only contact me by email.

I regularly donate to Centrepoint and honestly, I don't expect any thanks for it! I've told them plenty of times I'm fine with just the occasional email if necessary, but I keep getting phone calls anyway. It's starting to get a bit frustrating!

These calls come from Ethicall, a genuine group representing Centrepoint, the charity supporting homeless people in the UK. They ring up to check some info to make sure you're alright with your ongoing donations, and share details about homelessness and ways you might assist going forward. Speaking as someone who works at Centrepoint.

In my opinion, this seems to be a legitimate follow-up from Centrepoint, especially if you've made a donation recently. It’s probably just to check in and ensure that everything went smoothly with the process.

Sounds like it’s really Centrepoint, but they initially rang my landline and I told them I’m not keen on phone calls. Then they tried my mobile instead. I’ve given to them before ‘cause I believe in what they do, but if they ring me again I’ll have to stop donating.

I had an incoming call from this number, supposedly representing Centre Point, where I've got a donation arrangement in place. The caller asked me for my first name and postcode, which I provided. However, I decided to end the conversation abruptly as the chap-who claimed his name was Richard-had an odd and rather unsettling tone. It just didn't sit right with me!

yeah, this number belongs to centrepoint, its a genuine charity that supports homeless youth across the uk. they arent calling to ask for donations, just confirming contact info. if you’ve donated before, they probably have your details saved which is why they ring.

I received a call from someone claiming to be affiliated with a charity I usually back, yet they insisted they weren’t asking for donations. Quite odd, really! I plan on reaching out to the charity to figure out the purpose of that call. To top it off, shortly after, I discovered I had been added to a WhatsApp group with a whopping 32 strangers, none of whom I had ever encountered before. Naturally, I’ve gotten rid of that caller's number and removed myself from that entire group. It all feels a bit dodgy, if you ask me!

woman said she was calling from centrepoint. she shared loads of info about youth homelessness. basically she was asking if i'd be willing to double my donation or just add an extra couple of quid. i said no because (a) i don't really like charities phoning like this, (b) i'd already been sent an email about boosting my donation or giving a one-off extra, and (c) i definitely wouldn't hand over bank details on the phone. seemed like a legit call but i just don't agree with charities pressuring for more dosh over the phone.
