Yesterday my son got a call from them but he didn’t pick up. Then today, I got an email thanking me for buying £159 AUD worth of Bitcoin. Bit concerning how they got hold of so much info. I’ve checked all my accounts though and nothing’s been taken out.

I got a text that seemed to be from PayPal, saying I'd bought some bitcoin, which I definitely didn’t. It had a phone number to call if I wanted to get my money back. Turns out it’s just a dodgy scam - I don’t even have a PayPal account linked to that email address!

Honestly, do NOT ring that number, it’s totally a scam. They try to freak you out by saying some bitcoin was bought on your account - but that’s just not true. It’s all nonsense to trick you and steal your info. Stay away!

Got a call from someone claiming to be PayPal customer service, sounded like they were trying to help but ended up being quite rude when they explained the problem. Pretty sure it was a total scam!!!
