10 yearsJust had a rather dodgy call today, supposedly from TalkTalk. The chap wouldn't take no for an answer and kept insisting he needed access to my computer, threating to disconnect our service if I didn't comply. He identified himself as Sam Wilson from that number. After toying with him for about 21 minutes, he ended up hurling insults at me-called me a b***h! At least he wasn’t out scamming someone else while he was busy chatting with me! Quite the laugh, really! - caller: TalkTalk scammerTalkTalkSam Wilson10 yearsI recently had a chat with the fraud prevention team at Talktalk, and they've promptly set up a block on any withheld numbers coming through to my landline. I must say, their service was both speedy and effective! Hats off to them for their swift response. It appears that, amidst all the chaos of the hacking debacle, there's a bit of a silver lining to be found.Talktalk10 yearsI received a telephone call that mirrored the experience Sue described. The gentleman identified himself as Peter, although it’s far more plausible that he’s someone called Ranjit or something along those lines! I decided to ring back the number using a different phone, since my own number had been withheld, and an Asian chap picked up, introducing himself as "Talktalk." I’m considering reaching out to Talktalk directly and may even get in touch with Action Fraud if I don't feel reassured about their authenticity.SuePeterRanjitTalktalkAction Fraud10 yearsI received a rather peculiar phone call from an individual who purported to be part of the Talk Talk technical support team. He informed me that due to a hacking incident, I would be unable to access my email account for a fortnight. When I probed for his name, he claimed to be David Johnson, though his accent suggested he wasn’t from these shores. Curious, I requested a callback number, and he supplied me with 0117 318 2329, despite the caller ID showing a random number, 12345678. You can bet your bottom dollar I didn’t ring him back!David JohnsonSubmit Your Own Report (0117 318 2329)
