Oh no, this is disappointing. I handed over some books and gave my email and phone details so Oxfam could sort the gift aid thing. I sent an email to [email protected] on 20/06/2015 at 14:24, asking them to take the number 01nnn nnnnnn off their call list. After about five days, they replied saying: "Thank you for your email. I can confirm you've been opted out of any more phone calls from Oxfam." Fingers crossed that means they won't be phoning me anymore.

So these calls usually start with folks sending what they believe is just a one-off donation, often by texting after seeing a charity ad on telly. But then they keep your number to bug you again later and even pass it on to other charities. Because of that, I’ve decided not to donate through texts anymore.
