They say something about claims included or whatever. There seriously should be a rule to crack down on this, it’s borderline harassment. I reckon a lot of folks commenting here are already aware of the TPS, but they probably realise it doesn't block loads of calls, particularly those coming from overseas.

If you keep getting unsolicited calls, you can register with the TPS which should stop most of these calls. After that, callers can only ring you if you’ve given them permission first.

A quick search online reveals that there is a US company by that name, but several sources claim they don’t engage in cold calls and that their name is often used incorrectly. I've lodged a complaint with Ofcom regarding this silent nuisance and I urge others who experience the same to do likewise.

On the 15th of May 2015, I got a call on my home phone with nobody speaking on the other end. Since I'd been waiting for some calls from numbers with that area code, I decided to use 1471 to check who it was and called back. When I rang them, a recorded message played saying something like, "This call is from Media Match. It wasn’t important and we’ll try again later. Goodbye." Honestly, if it’s not important, why bother ringing at all? Felt like a bit of a slap in the face. I looked up "Media Match" on Google and found a US company by that name, but from what I read (including on here), they say they don’t do cold calls and that their identity might be getting misused. Because it was a silent call that annoyed me, I’ve reported it to Ofcom and would suggest others do the same if they get something similar. Caller claimed to be "Media Match," allegedly.

Got a call from some PPI scam, total nonsense, they didn’t even know who I was, just had my number. You should look up the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) and report the number there. If loads of folks report the same number, the ICO might actually do something about it. Best thing to do is report every scam call you get on the ICO website - sadly, that’s about the only way to try and put a stop to these dodgy calls.

I got a call asking if I'd recently made any kind of claim. The person sounded Southern African but their accent was hard to understand and there was loads of background noise. I just ended the call.

This number keeps ringing me like 7 or 8 times daily. When I pick up, there's a short delay then some foreign lady comes on, maybe from British Telecom or something, chatting about PPI claims. I've never taken out any loans so I just end the call straight away. Now, it's getting worse - they’re calling me almost every hour. Such pests!

Called a few times, then a long silence before they asked if it was a business phone. I said yes, they said sorry and when I asked who they were, they just hung up on me. Tried calling back and got an automated message from some group named 'Media Match' saying the call wasn’t urgent and they’d try again. I’ve blocked the number now.
