I usually take part in these surveys so was gonna ring back, but my phone flagged it as possible scam so I looked it up here. Seems a bit fishy alright, weird they switched from posing as BT to doing surveys now, which is a bit concerning.

A young woman with an Indian accent called claiming she was from Microsoft tech support, saying my computer had been compromised. She wanted me to log in as admin and do whatever she said. Some bloke called from Microsoft, said his name was David Maitland, asking about my Microsoft laptop and how I use it. When I told him I actually have an Apple, he said something about them being the same company. When I told him I didn’t think so, he got all awkward and just ended the call. Got a few calls in the span of 5 minutes, only picked up on the third one. Sounded like an Indian lady, kept telling me my PC had some serious issues. When i said I wasnt sure, she was all like, “Come to our office in Reading” - weirdly said it was in Leeds too? Then she went on about how Microsoft might pull their support if I ignored it.
