Got a call from someone claiming to be with Southern Electric, saying we needed to change our energy provider.

The guy claimed we were being charged nearly twice what we actually pay at 26.8p per kWh, and offered to lower it to 12.9p per kWh. But even that’s higher than what we currently pay after the climate levy. He knew exactly who our supplier was and acted like he was from there. Then he started asking for personal information like names and stuff.

They said they were from BES but the call definitely wasn’t from India. When I asked about my account, the guy couldn’t provide any info and claimed their system wasn’t updated yet (which sounds totally unlikely, who would run a business like that?!). Then, when I tried calling the number again, it just said “number cannot be recognised.” Shocking, really!
