I received a rather unexpected call from someone inquiring after a certain Melissa Clark, which, I must clarify, is not my name. Upon informing the caller that he had dialled incorrectly and requesting that my number be taken off their list, he surprisingly insisted on asking me a few questions. I probed a bit further about his company, and he claimed to represent Advantage, a firm conducting lifestyle surveys. I reiterated, rather firmly, that I required a guarantee that my number would be eliminated from their records prior to concluding the conversation.

Got a text claiming supposedly I'd been in a no-fault accident within the past three years. Thing is, I've never had any accident at all, so it's pretty clear they're not telling the truth and are purposely making stuff up.

I keep getting calls from this call centre about various surveys, mainly about lifestyle stuff. Sometimes they say they’re from a national survey organisation. It’s usually an unwanted call though, and if you’re not up for it, just tell them to take you off their list.
