I've had a rather exasperating experience with a relentless caller. They rang my home number, then went on to my work line, using the number 01164890578 on numerous occasions, only to hang up each time. They’ve also been playing games with local 01722 numbers that change every time they call. I even found out a colleague of mine was receiving the same annoying calls repeatedly. The caller claimed to be named John and said he was from a company dealing with windows and doors. He had the gall to assert he knew we were the owners of our property, which is absolute nonsense! To make matters worse, I was struggling to reach the phone due to a broken ankle when he hung up on me, leaving me quite furious. I’m eager to know where I can lodge a complaint against these scammers - is there an authority that can take action? He rang me and started by saying my name, but then he didn’t actually use it again. Someone just rang me on this number even though I’m ex-directory. They said I needed to replace my Rockwool insulation but when I told them I don't have any Rockwool, they hung up straight away.

Totally a con! The bloke claimed he worked for Eco Advisory Line. Loads of awkward pauses and sounded like he was reading off a script when I asked questions. I told him ‘this is a scam’ and he actually said ‘yeah’ two times!

Just got a ring from 01164890578. No answer at all, felt a bit dodgy so I searched it, and looks like loads of others got the same call recently. Can't understand why BT lets this go on. I mean, shouldn’t they be making sure people aren’t abusing their network? Or maybe they just don’t care because it’s profitable for them. Either way, I’m chucking it on my blocked numbers list.

Got a call about supposed issues with condensation from loft insulation ‘just installed’ (which it wasn’t). It was an automated message. I told them to sod off and take me off their list. Jon’s rung me up four times within just a few hours. He keeps talking over me, being quite rude, and then just ends the call. It’s all about windows, doors, and driveways. I’ve been polite, even tried to have a proper chat and asked how many times he plans to call before he gets that we’re not interested in replacing windows. Feels like nothing but harassment.

Beware of a con artist trying to get into your house under the guise of checking your loft insulation. I had a chap named Matthew from Energy Advisory Line who abruptly ended the call when I probed him about why he required my personal information, especially since he already seemed to know my identity. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

Some bloke called me claiming to be Matthew, checking on loft insulation I supposedly had done. When I asked if he dialled the right number, he just hung up. It's odd how this one number keeps popping up linked to loads of different scams all at once. From what I’ve seen in other reviews, Matthew bails as soon as people get a bit wary. I’m curious what they say to reel you in if you don’t hang up straight away.

Got a call from a bloke saying he was with some electricity company. Couldn't remember or didn't bother telling me his name. He mentioned something about me owning the place, so I asked him which place he meant. After that, there was a long pause - about half a minute of silence - before he just cut the call. Pretty odd if you ask me.

So this guy named Alex ringed me up, claiming to be talking about renewable energy and fiberglass insulation. He acted like he thought I was the homeowner and said he was meant to call people in my postcode. When I asked him specifically which postcode he was covering, he kinda dodged the question and just kept going on about fibreglass stuff. Then, when I asked if it was about loft insulation, he said yes but then just suddenly ended the call. Odd behaviour!

Yesterday, the same number rang me again, this time the guy said he was John from Doors and Windows ltd. Honestly, these muppets are a nightmare.

Got two calls from John at Windows & Doors Ltd today, he said he was around Salisbury and wanted to give a quote for fixing up my shabby porch. Told him not interested right now and reminded him we've registered with the Telephone Preference Service so he shouldn’t be ringing this number. Asked if they’d checked the TPS but he just hung up on me. The second call was similar but quicker. Definitely reporting this through [#][#]tpsonline[###][###]/complaint.

I usually just let calls like this ring, but I answered by accident this time. The bloke said his name was Matt and that he worked for an insulation firm. He asked if I owned the house and then launched into some spiel about government-backed loft insulation. I interrupted him with a, "You mean cold calling me like this?!" and he just ended the call. I’ve blocked the number since then.
