It’s pretty obvious this is just another scam. Don’t reply at all, seriously. If you do, you’re basically telling them your number’s live and you’ll get bombarded with even more dodgy calls. Supposedly, your phone company should be blocking these numbers once you report them, but that doesn’t happen. I’ve reported this same number before and nothing changed. From what I can tell, the phone companies really couldn’t care less.

Got a call from a landline in the UK, some bloke claiming to be from O2 asking for a code to get into our account. How come nothing’s being done about this sort of thing? It’s proper worrying.

They claimed to be ringing from EE, promising some kind of discount deal. I told them straight up they were scammers probably based in a place like Calcutta, then gave them a proper colourful farewell before I blocked the number and reported it.

I got a call from someone saying they were with O2 and could offer me a better contract deal. Thing is, I’m not even an O2 customer. They kept pushing me to say who my current provider was, then suddenly they said they were calling from EE instead. Felt pretty dodgy to me.
