When I tried ringing back, the line was instantly terminated, which set my alarm bells ringing. Interestingly, this number has popped up in searches thrice today alone. I've taken the step to block it. What’s odd is that when I tried to remove this number from my call history, it prompted a request for access to my photos and files. Quite peculiar, really. I've never granted permission for such access, yet the number still remains lodged in my call log.3 yearsI received a call claiming to be from something called “the Phonehouse Company.” When I inquired about the reason for their call, the woman claimed it was linked to my network provider. I pressed her for more details, but her answer was along the lines of “there’s no need for concern about that.” She acted as if she were quite hurt when I suggested that this might be a scam. The call quality was suspect, with a distinctly poor foreign VOIP sound, and there was quite a bit of background noise that sounded rather like a boiler room.
