Got a call from someone saying they're the National Crime Agency, told me my National Insurance number was involved in some dodgy stuff. They said I had to press 1 to talk to someone or else they'd freeze all my assets. Like, come on, give me a ring when you've found my offshore account in the Caymans!

Somebody rang up saying they were from Total Gas and Power, telling me there was a problem with their billing system and that our invoices had the wrong Meter Supply Number on them. Felt a bit dodgy and sounded like a scammer who wanted to grab our account info. When I asked them for the account password, they just cut the call straight away.

Got a call at work from a bloke with an Indian accent who said his name was 'Jack Hammer!' He claimed he was ringing from Positive Energy, which is actually the energy company we switched to just a week ago. He said there was some issue with the billing and asked us to grab our most recent bill from the supplier. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

This morning I got a call from a woman who said she was representing a bunch of different companies at the same time, which was quite baffling. He warned he'd ring us up "400 times" if we didn't hand over the info he wanted. After we ended the call, he tried ringing back about 30 times or more. Proper creepy scammer, sounded a bit off in the head too. Watch out for this one.

This bloke, 'Alex', has been ringing me on a few occasions now. First, he said he was from Octopus, and now he's claiming to be with Eon. When I wouldn’t share any details, he just ended the call. Definitely not my first run-in with him.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent asking about our electricity account number. The first time, they said they were from Octopus Energy, which we don’t use, so I just said no thanks and ended it. Then, within a couple of minutes, another call came through claiming to be a different energy provider. I told them nicely we weren’t interested and asked them to stop calling. The caller then threatened to ring me “400 times” if I didn’t pick up. After that, we got bombarded with over 30 calls before I finally blocked the number. This person sounds like more than just a scammer, probably someone who really needs help.

Someone rang claiming to be from SSE, saying they were the company supplying us atm. I asked for the account holder’s name, and they gave some random person’s name. I ended the call, but they rang back right away with a different name from some business list. They mentioned our meter number was billed wrong, but when I asked how to sort out payment, they couldn’t explain. Then they whined about me being rude and making things hard for them - I just stuck the radio on speaker and got back to work.

Got a call from someone named Harry Wilson claiming to be from Corona Energy’s Metering team. He said there was a problem with a 'rogue' bill that needed sorting out and a refund sent. Funny thing is, this bloke tried the exact same story a good few months back, and I wasn’t fooled that time either. Just a heads up - don’t hand over any info to callers like this.

She told me the meter reading they had on file was incorrect and advised me to disregard any unusually high bills because a credit would be given. Then she asked me to provide a fresh meter reading and my meter number. I told her I’d sort it out and speak to NPower myself. She insisted they were with NPower, but I explained I’d contact my Account Manager there directly. After that, she just hung up on me.
