Not long ago, I found myself on the receiving end of an unsolicited phone call from someone purporting to be a representative of Carphone Warehouse. Instinctively, I was on high alert, especially since I didn’t recognise the number on my screen. The caller began throwing out what appeared to be ‘unmissable deals’, which only heightened my wariness as they seemed decidedly dodgy. When I pressed for more details about their location, they revealed they were calling from India. At that point, my suspicions were all but solidified, particularly in light of various alerts regarding scams originating from India, with con artists posing as Carphone Warehouse employees.

Got another one of those dodgy scam calls today.

I picked up and said ‘hello’, but the person on the other end just replied with a robotic ‘goodbye’ then just ended the call straight away.

Loads of different numbers, including this one, kept ringing me. Thankfully, I was stuck in class so I couldn’t pick up. Later, I thought I’d look into where these calls were coming from, and honestly, I’m pretty relieved I didn’t answer those calls.

Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent saying she was calling from Carphone Warehouse. There was so much noise in the background, it instantly felt dodgy. I didn't bother listening and just ended the call.
