This lot say they’re from an energy company and can sort you a cheaper kWh rate, but they hound you every week. They keep fishing for bits of info like your business name and addresses, building up a dossier on you. Each call seems like they’re more legit cause they drop more details they got from you before. Proper scammers, no doubt!

So, I got a call from what sounded like an Indian call centre. The English was terrible, honestly. This guy was like, “Hellooo sir, I am calling on behalf of British gas!!” Pure scam, no doubt!

Got a call from a guy who said he was with British Gas, talking about assisting charities with their bills. I’m a charity trustee myself and reckon these scammers must be going through public lists of numbers. Just hung up straight away - best not to trust it.

I honestly don’t get why the government hasn’t done anything about these scammers yet. They just waste everyone’s time! From what I’ve heard, the longer they manage to keep you on the line, the more money they make, so it’s definitely best to just hang up straight away.

A bloke called claiming to be from the electric and gas company, said he was ringing about some help for a registered charity I’m involved with, due to rising utility costs. He had a strange accent and was hard to catch what he was saying. I told him we don’t handle these bills anymore, but he kept insisting he needed to speak with me. When I asked where he got my number, he said it was from the charity commission website. In the end, I just put the phone down. Feels like it was a scam to me.

It’s definitely a woman, but as someone who's hard of hearing, I can't make heads or tails of what’s being said. It's complete nonsense and feels like harassment!

Spoke to this really pushy lady from India who got quite defensive when I called her out on being a scammer. She claimed she was from both Manchester and Glasgow but couldn’t actually mention any places in either city. I had a hunch from the start they were scammers, but decided to humour them and ask loads of questions for a bit of fun. Honestly, unless you’re bored with nothing better to do, I wouldn’t bother picking up!
