Proper strange that.4 yearsI received a rather concerning phone call where the caller seemed to know my full name and even my address. They stated they were from the Compensation Claims Network (CCN) and inquired about a ‘situation’ involving my car from the last couple of years. This individual insisted that the information was sourced from some sort of opt-in database maintained by insurance companies. After determining my eligibility, I was transferred to someone named Alex O’Conner. He assured me that he only required a few bits of information-nothing too personal or sensitive, mind you. He went on to explain that for any damage exceeding £500 which I wasn’t responsible for, insurance firms are obliged to set aside between £2,000 and £3,000 to address a claim for distress, implying that if I don’t pursue it, that money ends up lining the pockets of the insurers. However, he had no clue regarding the specifics of the incident, such as when it occurred, or the insurers involved. Out of curiosity, I contacted my insurer, only to find that their IT system blocks access to this particular company’s website. Quite the mystery, isn’t it?Compensation Claims NetworkCCNAlex O ’ Conner4 yearsI received a call from what seems to be CCN, though I’ve never come across that name before.
