Got a call saying they’ve been trying to reach me about someone trying to hack into my account (TOTAL NONSENSE) and to press 1 - I didn’t hang about, just ended the call straight away. Really upsetting and stressful, especially as I’m on a pension. After that landline call, the exact same number called me on my mobile - now it’s blocked. How on earth do these scammers get hold of our numbers?

I called them back after they rang me out of the blue. I picked up and said Red Star Management. The bloke said he believed his "mate was trying to get in touch about a refund from... was it Barclays your bank?" Then he just hung up, so I blocked the number straight away.

I picked up and he was like, "How can I assist you?" So I told him he’d rang me. Then he said he thought I was calling in, and just as I began to reply, he shouted "bye there!" and ended the call. Annoying telemarketers from Red Finance again.

This number rang me today and when I picked up some agent just shouted “OH FOR f#ck SAKE” at me! They never properly answer when you call back either. They called me yesterday as well, saying they were from RED STAR FINANCE about PPI. I got through to a manager who promised to deal with the agent, maybe training or disciplinary action, and did apologise. Honestly, I’m fuming that anyone could behave like that, it’s just rude.

Received a call on my mobile from some firm called Red Star about PPI claims, saying I’d asked for a callback, which I definitely didn’t. They seemed to have quite a bit of my personal info. I played along to see what they wanted, and got passed through to someone called Ashley Howard. The website was something like [#][#]ashley-howard[###]/ppi-claims/. They said I was owed money and mentioned no win no fee with a 25% plus VAT charge if I pursued a claim. Luckily, I use Call Guardian at home and don’t usually get these annoying calls.

The woman, though not sure she deserved the title, said she was with Redstar Financial and already had my full name plus other details. Turns out these companies (dodgy ones if you ask me) share your info if you’ve done online quotes. Watch out! I've blocked the number now.

You may want to reconsider your choice of mobile network. I've got a completely new phone with a new number that I haven't shared with anyone yet, so technically only me and Virgin Mobile should have it. Despite this, I've already received three calls like this, two from this same number and one from up in Scotland. It makes me think either Virgin Mobile is leaking our info or they might even be involved in these calls themselves.
