Phone number ☎️ 01163183970 👆 is reported as a persistent and threatening scam falsely claiming to be from HM Revenue & Customs. Callers use automated messages with an American accent and fake names like Claire Williams to intimidate recipients about alleged unpaid taxes or legal action, demanding immediate payments. The tactics include warning of court proceedings, arrest, or asset seizure, often with aggressive follow-ups. They exploit fear, sometimes referencing personal information likely obtained unlawfully. Genuine HMRC communications come by official letter, never by threatening phone calls. Recipients are advised to ignore, block the number, and never call back. Reporting such scams to HMRC and the police is essential. Vulnerable individuals should be particularly cautious, as these calls can cause considerable distress.

Got a call from an automated American voice claiming to be HMRC. Total scam, and honestly, it felt pretty dodgy to me. Definitely not one to trust.

Got a call on my mobile claiming to be from HMRC, but the voice was this weird automated American accent. Didn’t pick up, but I let the voicemail play. After hearing it, I looked up the number online and, sure enough, it was a scam. Appreciate everyone's advice on this!

So, I got a ring from this officer called Claire Williams claiming to be from HM Revenue. She said that if I didn’t respond, I’d end up dealing with a solicitor and some serious consequences. Quite an unsettling call!

WARNING! Got calls from someone claiming to be from HRMS, threatening huge fines. Total spam, no doubt about it. They even phoned my partner earlier on the same day. The callers were really pushy, left a couple of voicemail messages with a number to ring back. Avoid!

Just got a call from a mobile number, and when I checked the voicemail, it was from Claire Williams with that Leicester callback number that a lot of people have been talking about. It’s clearly some kind of scam, but honestly, why aren’t these things blocked or stopped from ringing people in the first place? Such a waste of time and so frustrating.

This bloke with a dodgy American accent says I'm "being looked into by HMRC". I told him when I checked his number it showed up as Wavecrest. That shut him right up. I called him out as a scammer straight away. He must've got my details from the Facebook hack that happened not long ago and then they probably sold them on. Proper scam, no doubt about it.

Got a call this morning around 8:35 - rang twice then just dropped out. I called back and some bloke answered pretending to be from “HMRC” customer support, asking what I needed. I couldn’t help but laugh, which clearly annoyed him, so I hung up and blocked the number. Just so you know, HMRC don’t have a branch in Leicester, definitely don’t work on Saturday mornings, and they’re not daft. So do us all a favour and just jog on.

I’ve come to realise that it’s a clever ruse to lure you into ringing a premium rate number. They pretend to be from HM Revenue and Customs, using an auto-generated voice message to reel you in. Best to stay clear of it!

Some bloke calling from India claimed to be from HM Revenue & Customs, trying to scam me out of cash, but they sounded totally clueless. They had no clue about who I was or what I do, and then went on to ask for my personal info. I told him if he was ringing me, he must already know my name, and that’s when he just ended the call.

I got a voicemail from someone called Officer Claire Williams saying it was urgent and to call back. I called them back because I was waiting to hear from the tax office. When I finally got someone on the line, a bloke said I owed £4,886 in tax and if I didn’t pay up, I’d have to go to court. That was a bit suspicious since we don't normally hear words like 'Sheriff' or 'court house' here. Then I asked which department he was from, and he just hung up on me. Honestly, it felt really sketchy and quite stressful.

Got a call and they left a voicemail. It sounded like a proper scam - some American robot voice pretending to be from the tax office or something, saying it’s for “my benefit” but then threatening police and legal trouble if I don’t get back to them. Total con. Didn’t bother ringing back, just deleted the message and blocked the number. It looked convincing though since the number showed up with a UK area code.

Yesterday I got a voicemail from someone named Claire Williams, then just now a bloke rang me saying he was John from HMRC. He claimed I owed loads of unpaid tax from between 2012 and 2016, like £4,000, and that there was a warrant for my arrest plus my passport was about to be cancelled. I asked for proof or any paperwork sent to me, but he told me to just listen or I’d end up in jail. When I kept asking questions, he abruptly hung up. Definitely not how HMRC normally act!
