Got a call from a bloke with a pretty strong Indian accent who claimed to be from Microsoft. He told me my computer had some big problem - which made me wonder, how on earth did he find that out? Pretty obvious scam, trying to trick me into giving him access online so he could mess with my files and then ask for cash to fix it. Honestly, the easiest thing to do is just say you don’t have a computer, and they usually just end the call.

Yet another unwelcome and thoughtless invasion into the privacy of individuals.

I can't believe the Microsoft computer scam is still going strong - surely something could be done to put an end to it? I'm really glad I got myself a call blocker now, honestly can't imagine how anyone gets by without one these days.

I got a call from an Asian lady who tried to bill me £200 after initially saying it would only be £9.50. They asked if they could get into my computer to supposedly get rid of some harmful software. Seriously, don’t let these people anywhere near your PC.

I got a call, but all I could hear was someone chatting and typing like in a call centre, then they just cut off.

I got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft about an issue with dangerous software on my machine. They said they need to get in to delete the unsafe stuff. I told them I don’t use a Windows PC, and then they suddenly insisted Macs have this problem too. I asked them to hold on a sec, but after about an hour of waiting, they just disconnected. Proper weird situation!

I got a call from someone claiming my computer was hacked. When I asked how they found my number, they just said something about limited knowledge being dangerous. The guy sounded like he was Asian and didn’t have a clue what he was talking about. Pretty obvious scam to me.

Just had a rather dodgy call labelled as "Windows Support" from some chap who claimed to be in Texas, but with a distinctly unconvincing accent. The bloke insisted I fire up ANYDESK REMOTE so he could take charge of my laptop - as if! Kept him on the line for a good quarter of an hour, just stringing him along until he caught on that I was merely toying with him. Quite the amusing encounter, to say the least!

some guy claiming to be “windows support” from texas called me up, said he was calling from reading though, which sounded off given his accent. he tried to get me to open anydesk so he could take over my laptop. i just messed about, chatting with him for around 15 mins until he twigged i wasn’t serious :)
