Got a call today from someone claiming to be with Aviva, telling me they needed to chat about my life insurance and some new 30% tax on premiums starting in February. Then they started trying to talk me into buying a new policy. I rang Aviva myself to check and they said this bloke was definitely not legit and no such tax hike is happening. Proper sneaky and aggressive scammer. Tried phoning back on the same number but it just wouldn’t connect.

i kept getting calls from this number all day, didnt pick up but did a 1471 check. they finally got me around 5:30pm, turns out it was some sort of market survey. the voice sounded like it could be from east asia. i labelled it as annoying rather than anything else, cos the person on the phone was quite polite, just the constant ringing was a bit much!

About 40 minutes back, somethin very similar happened to me so I thought I'd share. This number has been calling me a few times on my mobile. The guy on the other end sounded foreign and kept askin me to verify info they claim to have about me. They tried to get me to confirm my postcode, which was close but not exactly right. I didn't give anything away and as soon as I refused, they just ended the call quickly. I've put this number on my block list now.
