What a lot of people don’t seem to grasp is that these firms pocket a hefty fee of about 25 to 30%! The truth is, you can sort this all out easily by getting in touch directly with the provider of your policy or your bank, and it won't cost you a bean... Why shell out for the same service twice? As for the Telephone Preference Service, what a waste of time! When I called them to find out why I was still receiving all this advertising rubbish, they informed me they can only tackle legitimate calls. What good is that? Charities and the like are still free to pester us, and they’ve got no power to manage that. So unless we just yank our phones out of the wall, it feels like we’re stuck enduring these irritating cold callers endlessly!
