I got a call on my mobile mid-morning on 7th Dec from a number I didnt recognise, and they didnt leave a voicemail. Other sites say its probably some energy broker or maybe British Gas or Scottish Power trying to sell something. If it quacks and wobbles like a duck, chances are its just another scam, so I thought I’d report it here too.

I got a call from someone asking about my British Gas deal, but wasn’t sure who they really were.

Got a call from UCR Consultants, claiming they need to discuss our contract. Problem is, they never mentioned who they actually were or which contract they were referring to. The whole thing felt really unclear and dodgy.

Turns out they’re an energy broker, but they were using really old info that didn't make sense.

Somebody called me, said she was Sara Keegan from Scottish Power, but she didn’t really know much about my account. She promised a great deal and mentioned she could just use my existing bank info. I got suspicious and checked with Scottish Power directly - turns out it’s a total scam. I reckon she’ll ring back soon asking for my bank details again. She sounds pretty convincing though. Scottish Power told me they’ll report this to their fraud team. I’ve gone ahead and blocked her number so she can’t get in touch anymore.

They claimed to be from British Gas but then tried to charge me rates that were more than a penny above what I was originally told. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

I got a call from someone named Sara or Sarah Keegan who said she was with British Gas. She couldn't tell me the name on the account and gave me this number to ring her back on. I tried searching for this number on the official British Gas contact page but found nothing.
