Lately, loads of calls have been showing on my phone twice, but with a slight twist - the first shows the number starting with 44, and the second just swaps that 44 for a 0, same number otherwise. This is just the newest thing happening. Blocking them doesn’t seem to help since they don’t call back from the same number, at least not so far. I just don’t pick up, thinking anything starting with 44 must be from abroad. Honestly, it’s quite annoying and not something that works in our favour.

So I picked up the phone and this lady from India started coughing right in my ear, then said something about my internet service. I just laughed and said, “Yeah, sure, that’s a scam,” and ended the call straight away. My internet provider’s based here in Scotland, with a proper Scottish accent, no Indian call centre nonsense, and definitely no background noise of loads of people talking in Indian.

Lately, we’ve noticed loads of calls showing up twice on our phone display, but with a slight difference. The first call shows the number starting with 44, then shortly after, the same number pops up again but replaces the 44 with a 0 instead. For example, (44) 1162126254 and then (0) 1162126254 have been ringing us off and on. Blocking them doesn’t help 'cause they don’t call from the exact same number again, at least not so far. I just don’t pick up, thinking the 44 means it’s an international call, which obviously ain’t doing us any favours.

Today I got a call from this number, but they just ended the call straight away. When I looked it up on Google, it turned out to be Al-Khalid Halal Meat Centre over in Leicester.

Just got a call from someone pretending to be Microsoft, saying my PC was full of viruses. I didn’t fall for it and ended the call straight away. Came here to see if anyone else had the same experience. Honestly, why doesn’t Virgin Media put a stop to these annoying scams? It’s about time they took action!

I received a rather dodgy call from a chap with a pronounced Indian accent who claimed to be representing BT. Astonishingly, he was trying to entice me with a 35% reduction on my phone bill. When I made it clear that I don’t engage with unsolicited calls and requested that he send the details through the post, he promptly hung up. Clearly, this was a scam attempt!

This number definitely seems like a computer scam, just like others have said. Right after this call, I got another one from 01512015685, pretty much the same thing.

This number called me and like a few others, it was a woman with an Asian accent speaking really loud because there was loads of background noise. She claimed to be from BT and said my internet was hacked or something. Then she wanted to send a code to my phone or email so she could show me the IP addresses of people supposedly using my connection. I didn't waste any time and just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from this number earlier today, they were asking if I was the primary user of the computer. Seemed a bit fishy to me, so I just hit the red button and ended the call.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming she worked for BT. She said our internet had been hacked and strangers were using it without permission. Her idea was to help block these users by installing some sort of "device" on our computer. I asked what kind of device she meant, then she asked if I had a desktop or a laptop. I told her neither. She then accused me of not telling the truth. At that point, I decided to end the call.

Got a call from a woman speaking with an Indian or Asian accent claiming there was a problem with my BT internet. I ended the call right away and have since blocked the number. Seems like a typical scam to me.

some bloke called saying he was from sky regarding my internet, but i told him we don't have sky so he must be wrong. he got really snappy, like just because we don't have sky doesn't mean i'm not from there. then he told me to get lost when i said don't talk to me like that. proper rude!
