Got a call from some bloke with an English name, but he sounded Indian and said he was calling from BT - total scam!

Got a ring from 01160778106 on the morning of 4th Jan, about 8:39. The bloke said he was Alex and claimed to be from BT. Thing is, I’m pretty sure BT don’t just call out of the blue unless you contact them first. Plus, I don’t even use BT myself. I’m always wary of cold calls so I hung up straight away. Maybe I should’ve stayed on to see what he was after, but I’m fairly certain this wasn’t a genuine call from British Telecom.
