I picked up the phone when I saw the number with a familiar local area code: 0115. The voice on the line was a woman named Shirley, but her accent definitely didn’t sound like she was from around Nottingham. She was an automated recording saying my internet had been hacked and if I didn’t press 1 to speak to a technician, my service would be disconnected within a day or two. No chance I fell for that one.

Got a call supposedly from my internet provider, but it was the typical spoof scam. Just hung up straight away, don’t reply to these, it’s definitely a trick.
